Planned Release: Dec 2026
All the power in the universe.
No way to control it.
Dr. Michael Tyler has a problem. Well, a few of them, really. Besides being an overworked physician, he now finds himself pulled into a parallel world – one filled with monsters, magic, and a particularly nasty wizard hellbent on claiming his soul.
They say Michael possesses a font of immeasurable power; but with no way to tap it, it’s worse than useless – it’s dangerous.
Luckily, he’s not alone.
A stalwart holy knight. A quirky but deadly elven archer. A grizzled dwarven shopkeeper. Three unlikely allies determined to keep Michael – and his magic – out of the wrong hands.
But as the danger grows and the balance between the worlds is threatened, Michael faces a question he never expected:
Should he take the path home, leaving his new friends behind? Or stand against the unstoppable forces that dragged him across the worlds, risking it all to save the ones he loves?
What else is a young doctor to do, except do what he does best?
He never needed magic to save lives before.
And he doesn’t need it now.
Time to get to work.
Coming soon to Amazon in Print and Digital, and Kindle Unlimited.
C. H. Duncan is a fantasy and speculative fiction author and practicing family medicine physician. With over 10 years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room settings, Dr. Duncan draws from his time in medicine to bring gritty realism to his writing, while exploring the moral complexities of the human condition. He also enjoys helping fellow authors bring that same authenticity to their own stories, regardless of genre.
When not working in his clinic in Florida, he can usually be found drafting his next novel, playing guitar, or spending quality time with his family.

I enjoy helping fellow authors, screenwriters, and game developers create medically plausible scenarios that add realism, depth, and credibility to their stories. Whether you’re working through a complicated injury, an unusual illness, or simply want to make a scene feel more authentic, I’m always happy to lend my expertise.
Brief questions and answers are available at no cost, as time permits. More extensive consultations, manuscript or screenplay reviews, or editorial assistance focused on medical accuracy may also be available on a case-by-case basis, with rates negotiated according to the scope of the project.

Please note: All consultations and responses are intended for creative writing and fictional scenarios only, and do not constitute medical advice for real individuals.
